Landon Robertson Is Building More Than a Highlight Reel — VISIONATL athlete feature

For Class of 2031 athlete Landon Robertson, speed has become an important part of his game. Now, the North Cobb, Georgia athlete is focused on turning that athletic ability into continued development on the football field.

Landon Robertson is still early in his athletic career, but the progress is already beginning to show. The Class of 2031 athlete has spent his recent seasons developing across football and track, using each sport to sharpen a different part of his athletic ability.

On the football field, Robertson has shown an ability to make an impact in several areas. Playing both defensive end and running back, his combination of speed and physicality has allowed him to contribute on both sides of the ball. In a recent performance, Robertson recorded four tackles, two quarterback pressures and a fumble recovery, continuing a stretch of noticeable defensive development.

Speed Meets Track

Track has become another important part of that progress. Robertson's speed has increasingly become one of the more recognizable parts of his game, and competing on the track has given him an opportunity to develop that ability outside of football. During track season, his coach trusted him with the opening leg of the 4×400 relay when the team needed a strong performance, another indication of the responsibility Robertson has gradually earned as an athlete.

For Robertson, the goal is to make those individual athletic traits translate into a more complete football player.

A Long-Term Vision

At his age, there is still plenty of development ahead. The coming years will bring stronger competition, more demanding training and opportunities to continue improving his technique, strength, football IQ and overall athleticism. Rather than treating early success as the finished product, Robertson and those around him are focused on what that progress could become with continued work.

That long-term approach is especially important for an athlete in the Class of 2031. Recruiting conversations may eventually become part of the picture, but there are several seasons of football between now and then. Each one provides another opportunity to improve, compete and establish a larger body of work.

Documenting the Strides

For now, Robertson's story is less about predicting where football will eventually take him and more about documenting the strides he is already making.

The speed is there. The production is beginning to follow, and there is still plenty of time to see where the work takes him.
